Prime Minister Nabanja champions an over 190 M fundraising for All Saints Church Butogota. KANUNGU
0ver 190 million shillings were yesterday collected in a thanksgiving and fundraising function towards the roofing of All saints Church Butogota in Kanungu district.
The thanksgiving service was led by the Bishop of the diocese of Kinkizi Rt Rev Dan Zoreka who lauded Christians for the hard work exhibited at the level at which the church is now. He however urged them to continue working hard up to the completion of house God.
He also reminded Christians to go for a booster dose and continue observing the standard operating procedures as set by the ministry of health because the COVID-19 cases have continued to increase.
The chief Guest Prime Minister Robina Nabanja who was invited by the Kanungu woman MP Patience Kinshaba Nkunda appreciated the people of Kanungu for electing only the hardworking leaders. Flanked by a number of members of parliament and EALA mp aspirants, the prime minister contributed 20 million shillings towards the roofing and promised more if the construction is not completed.
The kanungu district woman MP Patience Kinshaba Nkunda appreciated the prime minister and all MPs that heeded her invitation for the thanksgiving. She however highlighted some of the challenges in the Kanungu district that need the intervention of the office of the prime minister.
Similarly, the Kinkizi West MP James Ruugi Kaberuka pointed to the prime minister, the over 200 households that were affected by the border reaffirmation with DRC, and the tourism roads in the Kanungu district that need to be worked upon.
The district chairperson Eng Sam Arinaitwe Kajojo asked the prime minister to make interventions in the poor road network in the district, the need for more tea seedlings for the buffer zone, and the electric fence among others.
Business tycoon Dr. James Musinguzi Garuga said although kanungu has four tea factories, they lack enough green leaves to process. He contributed 20 million shillings towards the fundraising.
Prime Minister Robina Nabanja has promised the people of Kayungwe Sub county that they will get seed school.
The Kinkizi East MP raised this as he welcomed the minister for fundraising at Uganda Martyrs Sec School in Kayungwe sub-county kanungu district.
Prime minister Robinah Nabanja said that since she has come to realize that Kayungwe has been given a new sub-county, she is just going to give a directive and the government will make Uganda martyrs a seed school soon.
Nabanja contributed 15 million cash and when added to other contributions from other dignitaries it totaled to 47million only
Fr. Adrian Byomuhangi the parish priest of Makiro parish who also the director is for Uganda martyrs sec school thanked all those who attended the function and said the monies collected will facilitate the completion of the school’s classroom block which had just reached the window level.
Good work of God being done in kinkizi diocese by Right Rev Bishop Dan Zooreka. My God give him more wisdom, knowledge and energy.
