Ground breaking ceremony for Ruheza-Kyajura-Nyamigoye-Kanyantororo gravity water flow scheme

The ground breaking of this water project was done today (Jun 8, 2021, 11:17 am) by the Rt Rev Dan Zoreka, Bishop of the Diocese of Kinkiizi, in a scientific but jolly function that was done yesterday on the three water sources in the hills of  Kyajura. In partnership with NKKD WATSAN, this gravity water flow Scheme will serve 1550 people around Kanyantorogo Archdeaconary of the diocese of Kinkiizi.

The Bishop thanked the team of NKKD WATSAN for the job well done as he further encouraged the community to observe the SOPs and challenged them to work hard during this second lock-down due to COVID -19. Bishop Dan Zoreka further encouraged the people to pray from their homes now that the church prayer centers are temporally closed.

Also in attendance at this function was the Director NKKD WATSAN Rev Can Eric Beingana from North Kigezi Diocese, Mr. Sabitti Kabarira who is the Chairman LC3 Kanyantorogo Sub-county, the district councilor, lay reader of Ruheza Catholic Church Mr. Barikurungi Victor, The District water office Representative Mr. Martin Kobusheshe, Rev Moses Kabarebe, who serves as the Link person for NKKD WATSAN and Rev Bob Mbabazi the Diocesan Information Technology officer.

Mr Pius, who is the chairman for the beneficiaries implementation committee of this water project was thankful to the Diocese of Kinkiizi for thinking about the people of Ruheza and hence requested the beneficiaries to cooperate with the project officers to see this water flow Scheme be successful.

Also, the Lay readers of Ruheza catholic church Mr Victor Barikurungi was thankful to the Lord and the Dioceses of Kinkiizi and of North Kigezi, but also thanked Mr. Gabriel and Pius who offered their land in which the  water sources were located.

Rev Can Eric Beingana thanked Tear Fund UK for their support which will lead to the construction of a 20,000 liter reservoir tank, Sedimentation tank, 10 public tap stand and two toilet-latrines at Kyajura primary school in this this project which is expected to be done in two phases.
