Fasting is not a death sentence because Going without food is possible. Rev Bob Mbabazi Ntegyereize said.

This was was said during the arsh Wednesday service that was conducted at St peters Cathedral Nyakatare today where hundreds of Christians from Bishop’s office Staff, Nyakatare Technical Institute, Nyakatare Primary school and Nyakatare health center workers.

Rev Bob Mbabazi who is the Diocesan Youth and Children Coodinator as well as the Diocesan Information Officer encouraged the Christians to abstain from their earthly desires, repent from their sins, pray often and read the Bible during these 40 days of Lent that they have started today.

In the same service, Bishop Dan Zoreka called upon the Christians to follow the example of Jesus Christ, who sacrificed His glory to come down on the mission to save mankind. He praised the good work that the diocese has been doing for the welfare of the entire Christian community such as the prayer and fasting sessions that have been taking place at Kirenzi prayer mountain and called upon the entire chiristians in the diocecese of kinkiizi to attend the next prayer and fasting crusade at kirenzi which will take place on Friday 19th February 2020.

Ash Wednesday marks the beginning of the season of Lent. This is a great season of reflection on our lives and especially on all that God has done for us through the life and death of Jesus Christ.
