The bishop of the diocese of Kinkizi, The Rt Rev. Dan Zoreka on the 5th December 2021, ordained six deacons and one priest in a colorful service held at St Peter’s cathedral Nyakatare.
Those ordained deacons include Rev.Mwemire Dickson Kyomukama , Rev. Happy Christmas, Rev. Akampurira Lowland, Rev. Tumuramye Festo Ntampanvu, Rev. Byamugisha Onesmus and Rev. Laban Tibinsasa. Meanwhile Rev Justus Mbabazi was ordained a priest.

Before their ordination, the deacons ,took oath to respect the bishop and the canons of the Church of Uganda.

It was noted that all the ordinards have had a strong religious background by the fact of being a son of a reverends and others, lay readers.
The bishop of the diocese of Kinkizi informed the Christians of the roles of the deacons and urged them to work closely with them to fulfill these roles.
He also implored the newly ordained clergy to respect the oaths they had taken.

While delivering the sermon, the bishop’s commissary, Rev. Canon. Charles Busingye who also presided over the ordination retreat, encouraged the newly ordained to put into practice all that they have been taught.
He urged them against vesting all their energies in attaining leadership positions but rather focus on serving the church diligently.
The RDC kanungu hajji Shafiq Ssekandi Ssengooba resounded it that the newly ordained deacons to work hard and play their roles diligently.

Earlier on, the National Director of Compassion international Mr Lenny Mugisha said that compassion had partnered with the church to look after 130,000 children in their spiritual, physical, social emotional and education needs.
